BY ACCIDENT.....

By accident, I started another quilt top and then nearly have it finished.... all in one day. Here is what happened. First let me explain that I have about 4 quilt patterns that I "gotta do" some day. To keep me mindful of this fact, I have a special place on my sewing table where these special patterns reside. They are always there in full view. Yesterday, I was straightening the sewing table because now that the huge bed quilt is finished there is a lot of room. In the process of putting away remnants of fabric from the project, I started looking at my beiges, tans, and other neutrals because my cyberquilter friend, Cindy, and I are planning on doing a new project together in the near future. While fondling all the lovely fabrics, my eyes happened to glance at one of the "special patterns" on the table, so I started going through the fabrics again to get an idea of what I could use WHEN the time comes to actually make the thing.

Apparently the time came, because before I knew it, these background blocks had been cut and ironed.

Oh, by the way, here is a picture of the pattern. I am using all Kansas Troubles fabrics.

The lighting in the room is not good despite the use of a flash. In no time at all I had some of the blocks well underway. The majority of the blocks are scrappy flying geese with black centers.

Here are the pieces for the blocks, all laid out and ready to be assembled.

And here is the result.... one of the blocks sewn together. The blocks have more to them than shown here. Mainly some applique in the center. Will share those photos when available.

In conclusion, had to share some really silly pet pictures. This is Tabby (short for Tabasco; he was a hurricane Katrina evacuee from New Orleans. We got him at the rescue shelter). He found this box with the trimmings from the big quilt I just finished. He thought it looked like a cozy place to play and sleep. The previous day his black-and-white brother, Bevis, did the same thing.

Here is a classic. The two cats were sleeping on the couch. The old golden retriever, Leah, decided she wanted to sleep there, too. So she wedged herself between the two cats... and there the three of them slept, all snuggled together.

Until the next time.....
